What’s your earliest ‘musical’ memory?
Mmm, I would say most of my memories are musical! Probably trying to learn how to play the guitar on my own as a kid with a very old classic one, my little fingers ended up full of blisters! I was lucky my mum always had a good taste in music and a fascination for artists from the 80’s like The Police, Phil Collins or Queen so I also enjoyed making mixtapes with selections and listening to them while doin homework…
What was it that drove you to get into the music industry?
I always wanted to make music, but I would be lying if I say it was intentional, I always dreamed of writing songs and getting them heard, but the new world that house music opened for me really came as a surprise and a blessing, seeing my name on the cover of a record still gives me goosebumps…
Who have been the most influential people in your musical development?
I always like to think everything I come in touch with influences me, but as far as music production I kinda made my own way, never had anybody explain me how to do things when I started. A lot of people have been really helpful along the way though, I really enjoy discussing music with other producers and friends. People like Christian Malloni, Manuel Sahagun, Fabian Giannattasio and many others have been awesome sidekicks over the last few years, we feedback each other’s work and its fun to see how we grow together in the game…
Who inspires you outside of music?
My family is always a good source of inspiration, we are really close and they always been really supportive…That’s what I miss the most when on tour.
What are the biggest three challenges facing you at this moment in time?
Well, finding inspiration for new songs is always a challenge, I always try to remain fresh without sticking to any formulas…
Adapting to the digital era in music is another task, everyone is trying to figure out how to handle promotion, maximize sales and make music more durable in time, it will take a couple of years for things to settle…
And I think as djs get older, a big challenge is to balance all the travelling with the life back home. Hopefully 2010 will be a great year to overcome those challenges!
What is the best event you’ve appeared at and why?
I really enjoy playing Creamfields in Buenos Aires, and big clubs have a special thrill as well, but I would say I’d rather go back to earlier years to those pool party afterhours surrounded by friends in my city. Music sounds so much better when you play it for your friends!
If you could collaborate with ANYONE in the world (past or present) who would it be and why?
Paul Mcartney dropping some basslines with Mark Knopfler jamming on top and maybe Peter Gabriel on vocals…I just gotta figure out how to get them together right?
If you weren’t in the music game, what game would you be playing?
Football of course, being a dj is not a bad game but I would kill to score a goal in a stadium full of people!
Who gives you the most support in your life and work?
Im lucky to have a very supportive family and friends and a very special person in my life as well, she has been essential for my development as a person and as an artist.
How else do you contribute to the world?
I think being honest, hardworking and truthful is the biggest contribution a person can make to this world, helping whoever you can along the way especially in a country like Argentina where so many people need aid.
If you only had 3 months to live, what would you want to do with them?
Learn to play the harp, might need those skills in the afterlife.
What do you want to be remembered for when you die?
Wow, interview is getting dark, lol… I would like to be remembered as an honest person, I still have some time left to try and make my musical masterpiece!
