Saturday 20th March sees the launch of a sparkling new monthly night, BODYMOVE providing a soundtrack of Upfront House, Electronica and Nu Disco in Egg’s compolitan three-floor location and garden.
Transformed for the evening with customised production and visuals, confetti explosions, performance and animation team and dance shows, BodyMove is putting on the glitz, as it welcomes some of the most outstanding and upcoming DJ guests including Michael Gray (Full Intention/Robot Man); Audiodamage’s Kid Massive and company; the Crescendo crew of Paul Stevens, Bob Frisky, Eddie Johnson and in Egg’s club within a club, The Apothecary, Boy George, Fat Tony & friends.
Headlining BodyMove’s Launch Party on the Egg’s Main Floor are Special Guests Michael Gray (Robot Man/Full Intention) and Kiss FM’s Saturday night host, Steve Smart. Michael Gray is one of the most respected and in-demand artists currently on the global dance music scene. The accomplished Producer, DJ and Remixer has enjoyed extensive success alongside Jon Pearn as world renowned production and remix duo Full Intention whose recent smash “Once In A Lifetime” rocked up Beatport.
As a solo artist, Michael enjoyed worldwide success on the back of his massive single, 'The Weekend', reaching No 7 in the UK charts and going to Number 1 around the world. Michael’s second single 'Borderline' hit the Number 12 spot in the UK charts, and he has also produced and co-written an album for Luciana (Portobella) on Island Records and is finishing producing and co-writing for new act 'Koolwah. His first single "Fashion" on Toolroom Records went to No.1 in the Beatport chart, and is now being used by 'The Times' newspaper on TV and Radio adverts.
Audiodamage Records, without doubt one of Europe’s fastest growing record labels and club tours touchdown in The Terrace. Supported by some of the biggest names in the industry, the label has become synonymous with quality house music, delivering a fresh stream of sound and talent from around the globe.
Label chief Kid Massive is a man on a mission having recently covered the seminal classics “Touch Me (In The Morning)” and “Music Is The Answer”, causing something of a sonic stir. With several original productions and collaborations in the pipeline, plus the very first compilation series “Audiodamage Global Series 01” due out on the label this is one DJ/Producer with his finger firmly on the pulse.
Showcasing their driving, main room house sound, Kid Massive teams up with Cozzy D, Fran Cosgrave and the Ethan Project, with a dynamic live PA from chief vocalist, Elliotte Williams N’Dure. “Audiodamage was born to bring back the excitement of the club scene and prides itself on not being pigeon-holed in the music that’s played at the events, as House music is what it’s all about!”
In The Loft, hot from monthly Soho House residency, Grace Presents: Boy George, Fat Tony & Guests with their flamboyant dance mash up. Rounding up the BodyMove line up are newcomers, Crescendo Presents introducing rising stars of the house scene with Paul Stevens ,Bob Frisky (Manumission), Eddie Johnson (Pushca) and Dan Macleod Smith (fluid) adding their own individual flavours to an already buzzing house, nu disco and electronic dance line up.
Joined by the BodyMove residents Dermot C, Darryl Green and Ali B serving up sumptious platters of breaks, house, and beats to get you poppin.
BEDA Award-winning Egg in Kings Cross is now pushing into its 6th year, and is proving a real contender on the international underground scene. With recent extensive refurbishments to its ground floor space Egg is now pushing things to the next level, and if you haven’t seen Egg for a while, now is the time to go.
